PATS 2008

I went to the first annual Pacific Astronomy and Telescope Show in Pasadena on Sunday, September 14, 2008. It was great fun. SBIG had a prototype of their much anticipated STX camera there. It's still awaiting FCC approvals but they told me it should be out at the end of this year or early 2009. Here's some pictures of it on a setup in Software Bisque's booth.

Here's a grainy shot of David Levy talking with John Dobson. This was an entertaining session. At the end of it everyone sang Happy Birthday to John Dobson who turned 93 that day. Pretty rough chorus. Astro geeks don't sing well.
